Booking a Surgery Appointment

Surgery appointments are available on most days Monday to Thursday; drop off is at a fixed time first thing in the morning and pick up is scheduled in the afternoon on the same day.

Requests for surgery appointments will only be accepted for 1 week per month during our “open booking window”. The exact dates will vary but in most cases will be mid-late in the month. The front page of our website will clearly show whether bookings are open or closed, and the date of the next available window, if known. When requests are being accepted, the information bar will have a blue background; if bookings are closed, the background will be red.

All requests for surgery appointments must go through the “Book an Appointment” form on our website. We do not accept bookings by email or phone (please contact us if you require an accommodation). We are typically booking approximately 1-3 months in advance for surgery.

Please do not submit a request before checking that your pet meets the clinic’s current eligibility criteria for surgery. Not all pets are able to be spayed/neutered at our clinic. You can check our eligibility requirements here.

Once you have submitted your appointment request, here is what to expect:

  • If we require further information to process your request, we will contact you at the email address provided. We will not proceed with your booking until we receive a reply, and your request may be denied if we do not hear from you within 3 business days. Due to the volume of requests we receive, we will not follow up if you do not reply.
  • Once we have all the information we require, we will send you a booking offer via email for a specific date. You have 3 business days to accept, deny, or request a different date – if we do not receive a reply by this deadline the spot will be forfeit and you will need to submit a new request, during the next open booking window.
  • If you accept our booking offer, you will receive a follow up confirmation email with the appointment date, drop off and pick up times, fasting instructions, and cancellation policy. Your appointment is not confirmed until you receive this email.
  • If anything changes with your pet’s health between the time you put in the request to the surgery date, please contact us ASAP to let us know. This includes if you pet: goes into heat, becomes pregnant, is diagnosed with a medical condition, or is prescribed medication.
  • If you need to cancel or change your pet’s surgery appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. Cancellation fees will apply for last minute cancellations or no-shows as per our cancellation policy.
  • Once an appointment has been confirmed, it cannot be transferred to another client or used for a different pet. Please only submit requests for your own pets, and do not submit requests for pets that you intend to rehome prior to the appointment.
  • Our surgery spots are limited and in high demand. For this reason, repeatedly denying offers, ignoring our communications, requesting date changes, or cancelling surgery appointments is unacceptable and may result in denial of service.
  • Please note that as a limited-service clinic, our spay/neuter surgeries are reserved for young, healthy, lower-risk animals only, at or around the traditional age of 5-6 months of age. While we acknowledge that some veterinary professionals recommend delaying spay/neuter in some dog breeds, we do not offer mature or higher risk surgeries. If you are looking for this service, please book an appointment with your regular veterinarian.
