Spay/Neuter Surgery

In females, spaying involves the removal of the ovaries (ovariectomy), or the ovaries and uterus (ovariohysterectomy), and in males, neutering involves the removal of the testicles (castration). These surgeries are performed under general anesthetic using up to date pain management protocols, and your pet is monitored closely throughout their procedure until they are safely recovered.

Each and every surgery includes a full veterinary exam, complimentary nail trim, microchip and lifetime registration in the province wide BC Pet Registry, and additional take-home pain medication for your pets comfort. Optional services at the time of surgery also include vaccinations, IV fluids, and routine de-worming.

While these surgeries are considered routine, they are still major operations and your pet will need to rest for 10-14 days to ensure there are no complications during recovery. You will be sent home with full discharge instructions, and our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have before you take your pet home.
